Spencer Reed & The Madame Jenny’s Jazz Band
Saturday, October 12th | 8 – 11pm
After touring with the USO throughout the Caribbean and Panama and then a freelancing stint in New York City, pSencer settled in Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains where he performs with his wife, singer and bassist Nancy Reed. He’s a regular at the Deer Head Inn in the Delaware Water Gap, a famed jazz landmark. Spencer has accompanied multiple traveling acts that pass through the Pocono area including Billy Ekstine, the Fifth Dimension, Robert Goulet, Sergio Franchi, Frankie Laine, Julius LaRosa, Eddie Fisher, and Bobby Rydell. He’s hit the road with the Bob Crosby Bobcats, in Iowa at the Bix Beiderbeck Jazz Festival in Davenport, the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee in California, the Red Nichols Jazz Festival in Utah, the San Juan Islands Jazz Festival in Washington and many others. We’re honored and thrilled to have him grace the Scranton stage!
This weekend, enjoy a musically-infused night set against the backdrop of Scranton’s Prohibition past. Percussionist Tyler Dempsey and the Madame Jenny’s House band lead some of the most highly regarded musicians in the country.
