Judy Palma and Louis Pettinelli with the Madame Jenny’s House Band
Friday, August 16th | 8 to 11 p.m.
Pianist Judy Palma has performed with artists James Taylor, Rupert Holmes (the “Pina Colada” song), Deborah Gibson, Jay Black and the Americans, Little Anthony, The Shirelles, Tony Danza and Mary Wilson of the original Supremes, to name but a few. A testament to her versatility, she is as comfortable playing Gershwin as she is Motown or Mozart. An established NYC session musician, she play Bill Clinton’s first inaugural ball and has performed privately for Barbara Streisand and Robert Duvall. Her Broadway shows include Hairspray, The Wedding Singer and Terrence Mann’s Rock Opera. She also toured extensively with the late, great R&B legend Ben E. King.
Born into a family of professional musicians and educators, Louis Pettinelli began his journey at the age of nine as a trumpet player. By the age of 16, he was playing the upright bass, first in his high school’s jazz ensemble, and then at Rowan University, which he attended as a music major. He currently studies bass with Douglas Mapp, as well as noted NEA Jazz Master Bassist Buster Williams. In addition, he has studied bass with Andy Lalasis, Joseph Conyers, Tom DiCarlo, David Wong, Mike Boone, and many more.
Equally at home on upright bass and electric bass, he continues to excel in multiple genres and styles of music, including the worlds of jazz, classical, and musical theatre. He holds an active performance schedule throughout not only the Tri-State Area, but also Washington D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia. He has performed at venues including Chris’ Jazz Cafe, South Jazz Parlour, and more.
